The Long-Term Care
Ombudsman
Resident Advocates
When a resident needs help, a family needs solutions, or staff needs advice, the Ombudsman is never far away!
The Ombudsman provides advocacy services for residents in nursing homes, skilled short-term rehabs, assisted living, and residential homes for the aged.
An Ombudsman uses their knowledge of Federal and State resident rights to resolve concerns and complaints regarding long-term care residents’ quality of life and care.
Volunteer Ombudsman Representatives (VORs) are a big component of our program.
The District Long-Term Care Ombudsman works closely with VORs to resolve care and quality of life concerns for nearly 16,000 residents in thirteen counties!
